Here in Key West, as far as sought-after delicacies go, Stone Crabs are it. Even seasoned locals look forward to the delicious, firm, sweet crab meat you get when you’re lucky enough to get your hands on some.
The season starts October 15 and runs for seven wonderful months. During Stone Crab Season, anyone who happens to be in Key West will enjoy delicious, fresh crab. The claws are boiled in salted water right on the boats and sent directly to our market.
For anyone who can’t make it to Key West, we’ll package them up and have them out to you, delivered overnight right to your door!
How are Stone Crabs Served?
No need to cook- they’re ready to go when you get them…ready to go and absolutely delicious! Usually, they’re served with just some sort of dipping sauce. We’re told our Key Lime Mustard Sauce is heaven on Stone Crab claws.
A good way to break the crab is with the back of a spoon. No need for a hammer- a light touch will do!
